Sunday School
Our Children’s Ministries are for all children 3-12 years old. We begin in church, so we can be a church family together, then after the Children’s Time, we adventure on to Sunday school.
Sit with your families and then come with us, we'll show you where. The teachers return with the children for the Postlude so families can attend Coffee Hour together.
We work in these age groups at the moment (Preschool -meaning 3-5 year olds, Kg & 1st, 2nd & 3rd, 4th – 6th) and together we:
tell scripture stories
learn things about each other and God
make friends
do activities and crafts together
play games
help our adults understand the world as we see it and find out how adults understand the world, too
Our warm and wonderful nursery is open every Sunday from 9:30 a.m. until the end of service. It's filled with toys and supervised by two church members.
Preschool
Kindergarten and 1st Grade
We use a hybrid curriculum. One is a delightful approach called Godly Play, a Montessori-based program using storytelling and exploration play or Picture the Bible curriculum. The other, also based in story-telling is UCC’s Picture the Bible, which allows us to go into in each scriptures story on any given Sunday.
2nd and 3rd Grade
This age group attends a more discussion-based class utilizing Talk Sheets and Echo the Story.
4-6th Grade
Our 4th through 6th Graders are in a pre-confirmation age of learning and exploration. The use Echo the Story (a Spark House curriculum) to help found a discussion based classroom environment that meets our youth and their individual question where they are each week.
